Andrew Keener: Recording Session Workshop
THIS IS A FRIENDS ONLY EVENT. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE LOGGED INTO YOUR MENUHIN HALL ACCOUNT TO BOOK TICKETS. With some forty years as an independent recording producer behind him, Andrew Keener has worked with some of the most notable names in classical music, including Daniel Barenboim, Stephen Hough, Alina Ibragimova, Steven Isserlis and the Takács Quartet. A record addict since his school days in Barry, South Wales, and as a music student at Edinburgh University, he remains fascinated by musicians both as artists and human beings. This workshop will offer some insights into the process of making music in studio conditions and its essential paradox: that the microphone is not a stifler but a liberator, that a recording session can and should be explorative, intense, productive - and fun! This is a rare opportunity to join one of the world’s leading classical music producers as he guides our pupils through the process of making a professional recording.
