Kathryn Stott and YMS pupils

Fauré - Dolly Suite | Fauré - Piano Quartet No 2 | Brahms - Piano Quintet in F minor Op 34 It is always a special joy to bring together current and past pupils of the School. This evening we are delighted that pianist Kathryn Stott, who was just eight years old when she joined the School in the 1960s, will be sharing the stage with today’s young musicians as they join forces to perform works by Fauré – a speciality of Stott. The second half is dedicated to one of the great cornerstones of chamber music repertory: Brahms’ monumental Piano Quintet in F minor. Since leaving The Yehudi Menuhin School, where Kathryn was particularly influenced by the legendary Nadia Boulanger and Vlado Perlmuter, her career has not only taken her to most of the world’s greatest concert halls, but her work as a chamber musician has also seen her perform with many major artists including a long-standing collaboration with cellist Yo-Yo Ma. There will be a pre-concert talk at 6.30pm.
