Lady Windermere’s Fan

Lady Windermere’s Fan

The driving force behind the reinvention of the silent movie in concert, BAFTA Awardwinning composer Carl Davis has written the scores to some of Britain’s most-loved dramas, including The French Lieutenant’s Woman, The World at War and Hollywood. Lady Windermere’s Fan is based on Oscar Wilde’s classic play set in London in the 1890s, and bubbles with scandal and intrigue. The screening of this witty society comedy will be accompanied by a live performance by YMS pupils of Carl Davis’ original score, conducted by the composer himself. An event not to be missed! We invite you to join us for a 1920s-themed evening by wearing anything from simple black and white to your best flapper dress or pinstripe suit and fedora. There will be champagne at the bar for those looking to celebrate! Running time: approx. 90 minutes plus interval

Pre-screen talk with composer Carl Davis CBE at 6pm - free for anyone attending the concert
