Aidan Woodcock Centenary Concert

Aidan Woodcock Centenary Concert

Concert presented by Maiastra. Aidan Woodcock, the founder of the Aidan Woodcock Charitable Trust, which organises the Maiastra courses and concerts, was a remarkable and much-loved man and the debt owed to him by many musicians is incalculable. The first Maiastra course took place in 2006 and since then almost 200 gifted young students have had the benefit and privilege of attending these courses; many have gone on to develop successful international careers in the world of chamber music. Aidan was born on 12 March 1925 and in this concert to commemorate the centenary of his birth, Maiastra alumni, including former students of the Yehudi Menuhin School, will perform Mendelssohn's String Octet in E-flat major, Opus 20, and the Octet in F major, D. 803 by Schubert. Free entry with retiring collection. Booking required.
