Showcase concert: Saturday 4 July

In a concert series that necessarily includes a large number of pieces for solo instrument, it seems highly appropriate to begin with Bach, whose sonatas, partitas and suites for solo instruments form the foundation of any musician’s repertoire. Our resourceful staff and pupils have found a number of pieces that have not been performed in the school for a good many years (if at all); one of these discoveries was the set of 12 Waltzes by Beethoven’s bassist Domenico Dragonetti. These short and delightful pieces are spread throughout the Festival.

We are also delighted to welcome some virtual visitors, including Katie Morgan who left a couple of years ago, and who has linked up with Claire Wells for a scintillating performance of Ysaÿe’s popular showpiece.

This concert will go live at 7.30pm on Saturday 4 July. Please scroll down to view the full programme.
