Showcase concert: Sunday 5 July

This concert features works by some of the later contributors to the solo repertoire – Ysaÿe, Enescu and Britten. So many of our pupils are performing Ysaÿe’s sonatas for solo violin that we have been able to put at least one in every concert. A distinct contrast is provided by the richness of Bruch’s Romance for viola and piano – again, a work that has not been performed here for many years.

Lockdown has not prevented sets of friends getting together over the internet; the Schubert trio performed by three of our oldest pupils was found and rehearsed on line, and they only met up for the recording in the Hall (at a suitable distance, of course!)

This concert will go live at 7.30pm on Sunday 5 July.
