Showcase concert: Monday 6 July

Musicians often have practical difficulties to overcome in the pursuit of excellence in performance. The School’s newest pupil, Patrick Marks, had to record his piece with a lot of background noise going on, but that didn’t stop him from producing a good firm performance of Dragonetti’s 6th Waltz.

Richard Zhang had a slightly different problem; he was unable to film his performance so we have used an audio file – but playing all of Chopin’s beautiful but tricky preludes in one sitting is a considerable achievement. To contrast with the romantic tonality of these pieces, we have added in solo works for violin and cello.

This concert will go live at 7.30pm on Monday 6 July.
