Nikolai Demidenko

Nikolai Demidenko

Nikolai Demidenko’s passionate, virtuosic performances and musical individuality have marked him as one of the most extraordinary pianists of this century. His performances of Chopin, Beethoven, Brahms and Prokofiev have brought him worldwide recognition and critical acclaim. In 2014, in acknowledgment of his outstanding contribution to the field of music, Nikolai was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Surrey. By drawing parallels between sonatas and waltzes, tonight’s programme takes the Romantic Viennese sensibility of Schubert and presents it side by side with the unique Russian sound world of Scriabin and Prokofiev.
